Dave also resurrected ‘CHATTERS’, a youth drama club, for a year but was unable to continue it due to health issues.
Dave is currently on committee for both CHATS and CHMCC (as Treasurer) and has a particular interest in organising training and performance opportunities for young people in all aspects of local theatre as well as promoting inclusiveness and diversity in our productions.

David first entered the theatre at the urging of his daughter Stephanie. He first played a Pirate and Policeman in Pirates of Penzance. He was then hooked. Sound of Music followed as a Nazi Soldier / Dancer / Priest. Seussical the Musical as the Mayor of Who was his first lead. Shrek the Musical followed as a Guard and Prisoner. He then had the pleasure of bringing Harry Bright (Sophie’s real dad) to life in Mamma Mia in Nov 2021.

Mel has been involved in Local theatre since 1986. CHATS was one of the companies that supported her into many roles over the years, which she personally believes is responsible for much of her growth as an Actor.
Mel’s most recent work with CHATS was in Steel Magnolia’s 2020, in the role of Ouisser. Mel is very excited about the future of Chats and is proud to be a part of what she believes is a ground breaking Committee for 2022.
My favourite roles to date are; Rosie in Mamma Mia, Sally Bowles in Cabaret and Ellie Greenwich in Leader of the pack. My first show in the JMT was in 1987. Camelot by CHMCC. I’m hoping to give back whatever I can, that was gifted to me by my theatre family over the past 35 years.

Sharon's involvement with CHATS started when her youngest daughter was a part of Chatters children classes run by Shirley Barnett. Sharon helped with Front of House, painting sets or working backstage as part of the crew. Having her own business and family took up most of her time. Sharon then later went on to managing props, and then stage managing, having been associated with many productions including Arsenic & Old Lace, Summer of The Seventeenth Doll and Calendar Girls. Sharon recently coordinated CHATS Festival of One Act Plays in March 2022 and is a hardworking member of CHATS.
